Harvest Time

My style of photography often includes a strong foreground, I always look for something to give a scale to an image and to lead the eye into the rest of the landscape. Around here we have some lovely countryside, a lot of it farmland and some great curving and undulating fields which should make a good photo but which usually lack a decent foreground. At this time of year however a photographer is gifted by a man made feature which really lends itself to photography, the round straw bale (rotoballe in Europe!). These monsters appear at harvest time, produced in a large tractor towed machine are soon collected by the farmer but in the meantime are really useful!

I tried for this shot two days ago but as soon as I got my camera out the cloud descended and wouldn't leave. Tonight was similar, as soon as I set up a cloud came, I had to sit for half an hour till it cleared, I hope you agree it was worthwhile
