The Sunrise That Nearly Never Was

The Sunrise That Nearly Never Was

I'd been out since 6.30am at Scarborough waiting for a nice sunrise but was thwarted by a thick band of stormy clouds hanging out to sea.

I was just on the verge of going for breakfast when I decided to try my hand at another spot, down on the South Bay, near the Spa. As I arrived I could see the sun beginning to peep around the cloud and became optimistic that I might just get the shot.

I settled in and waited and was rewarded by the sun coming around the bank of clouds in a colourful display which lasted all of 5 minutes or so. I was glad I'd not gone for breakfast!
